Charlie's Angels
This
techno Egyptian style dance was inspired by a track we found years ago from the album
Arabian Nights ”Club and Chill-Out Classics”. It was a dance that we
always intended to do, but seemed to be on the “back burner” for quite some
time. We had a request that after a number of tribal and Bollywood performances
could we perform a cabaret number?...It had been a while….
The track itself is entitled "Ya Habibi". It includes fast techno beats and is
accompanied by sensual female vocals. It provided us with a perfect opportunity
to mix slow controlled moves with strong techno arm and hip punctuations.
However, something just wasn’t right… The choreography was difficult to
create and our love of the music was getting lost in our interpretation.
Costumes were proving to be a headache too as we even contemplated dancing in
hotpants! Don’t ask.
Then came the “Charlies Angels “pose. Three chicks with attitude who mean business! The dance came together, had meaning and worked its way into our soul…Enjoy
